Some use Rattle in healing to dispel illness and dis-ease, while some use it in ritual and celebration. There are many different types of Rattles, all representing various beliefs. Rattle can help us to ground. The sound of Rattle is magic, creating a unique energy unto itself.
Indeed, there is power in sound and there is power in Rattle. As an extension of the self, Rattle has much to teach us.
In this workshop, we will talk of the significance of Rattle, as well as respect for Rattle and its uses. You will then create and birth your own Sacred Rattle, charged with your energy. Your personal prayers and intent will give it life. You will select the elements of your Rattle honoring all the kingdoms and directions. The body of Rattle is made of animal hide and fur, bringing us together with the four-leggeds. The handle is made of wood, touching us to the Tree People. The contents include sacred plants (corn, tobacco, rice), crystal chips, sea shells, sea salt, etc... Please bring anything you may want to include in or on your Rattle or share with others.
 Each Rattle will be made the old way and blessed with sage and sweetgrass. You will hand-stitch, assemble, and decorate your own Rattle. We will offer your Rattle to Creation and Light in ceremony, giving thanks to the gifts of Mother Earth and all our Spirit Relations, completing the birthing process. Perhaps this will be a new beginning for you.
